`Krantiveer not a launch pad for my daughter`

Mumbai, June 24 -- The new Krantiveer doesn't suffer from a hangover of the earlier one," says Mehul Kumar, a confident producer-director. "It's a hard-hitting film treated lightly, and everyone who watches it will be touched." Kumar's sequel to his own 1994 film by the same name is due to release tomorrow, and he's far from nervous. "It's a youthful film, has a slick value, its songs are already a hit, and, most importantly, it will go across to all audiences, multiplex and single screen. Everyone will love it," he says, adding that the film is not a launchpad for his daughter, Jahan Bloch. "I went to Nana's (Patekar) son first, he didn't want to act. I approached other actresses, but they were too exposed to fit the role. Finally, Jahan asked if she could do it, and then she gave an audition."The producer, who spent a little over a crore to make the first Krantiveer, has his revenue model prepared for this one. "The reason why we don't see any hit films is because they don't get their budget right. For instance, I have made this film for Rs 10 crore including print and publicity, so it can surely recover its money."
